Nothing can be worse than showing up to the gym and realizing you forgot your headphones. I think it goes without saying, performing exercise while listening to music is much easier than trying to exercise without music. Music can literally make or break your mood to workout but does it actually make us perform better or is it all in our heads?

I came across this interesting article that discusses a study posted in the journal of Psychology of Sport & Exercise. The study proves that uptempo music DOES make us perform better during high-intensity training but DOESN’T help us during low- to moderate-intensity workouts, and might actually distract us.
