This simple smoothie recipe is packed with 10 grams of protein and 8 grams of fibre. It will give you the energy you need to start your day!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (125 mL) Rogers Porridge Oats & Ancient Grains
  • ½ cup (125 mL) strawberry kefir
  • ½ cup (125 mL) skim milk (or alternative beverage of your choice)
  • 1 cup (250 mL) frozen berries (blend of strawberries, cherries, blackberries and blueberries)
  • 1 whole banana, sliced
  • ½ cup (125 mL) ice cubes
  • juice of ½ fresh lime

Preparation

In a blender, add Rogers Porridge Oats & Ancient Grains and blend into a fine flour.
Transfer flour into a 2 cup (500 mL) wide mouth Mason jar.
Add kefir and milk to flour in Mason jar, stir well with a spoon.
Refrigerate oat mixture in Mason jar for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.
In a blender, add the frozen berries, banana, ice cubes, lime juice and mix. Add the refrigerated oat mixture and blend well.
Serve in 2 glasses (makes two 250 mL servings) and enjoy immediately!
